Shura is Touched Again

Out gay British electropop singer-songwriter Aleksandra Denton, known as Shura, has released a new music video called of her hit song 'Touch' which this time features the American hip hop artist Talib Kweli.

24 year old Shura artist first appeared in the spotlight and signed with Polydor Records after she released the video for her song Touch last March. The video, which shows various couples (women and men, men and men, women and women) approaching each other and slowly kissing, went viral with almost 25 million views so far.   Shura said at that time “There are many different kinds of love. It didn’t really feel like a political statement at the time. When you have a lot of gay friends, you don’t think of that as being different or divisive or weird, that’s just your reality."

Jay Khan sings Naked

German singer Jay Khan takes the title of his song Naked literally in this video shot in a street in  Bucharest four years ago.  The very handsome Khan was born in the UK to Pakistani father  and a British mother but has lived in Berlin since he was 6 years old, was once part of  the multinational band US5.

Now Khan divides his time working  music label producer (Nexxus Music) and is gaining successfully attention with his new band “Großstadtfreunde” when he is not helping his father out in “Padre E Figlio” the italian restaurant that they own together in Berlin..  It's a pity though as the streets of Bucharest  (and us) miss him baring his  considerable talent.

This Ain't Over

One of our very favorite music videos of the week is "This Ain't Over" from 23 year old ex Glee singer Alex Newell. It's quite extraordinary and a striking piece of work as Newell peers out of the dark in his luminous make up as he belts out this powerful thumping dance anthem.  A sheer joy.

"This Ain't Over," which premiered yesterday via SPIN.com  is part of Newell's debut EP called "Power" that is due to be released on February 19th.  Later that month the young singer will be touring with Adam Lambert.

Don't Rain On Their Parades

Can anyone really out 'Streisand' our Babs herself?  Hmm, probably not. But several people think they can,  like the ones in this very star studded mashup collection of Divas who are belting out "Don't Rain On My Parade" . See how many you can spot and name.

This Is How We Jew It

Detox Icunt, known mononymously as Detox, is a shiksa lucky enough however to be dating a super cute, 5’4,  hairy Jewish boyfriend.  When he invited her over to his parents house for the holidays, Detox got a bit of a shock to find there was no Christmas Tree and the kids were spinning dreidels.

However, she wasn't thrown for long and soon found her inner Barbra Striesand and and quickly learned This Is How We Jew It!

P.S. The track is taken from the new Christmas Queens album, which sees Drag Race favorites including Sharon Needles, Violet Chachki, Miss Fame and Katya lend their voices to a range of festive tracks.

Lady Bunny : Drag Race Hoes

Iconic NY Drag Queen Lady Bunny who has been practising her craft for EVER,  has a new music video called 'Drag Race Hoes' in which she lashes out at all the Reality Show Drag Queens with her very wicked wit and all to the tune of Madonna's Vogue. She claims she is not bitter at their success BUT that doesn't stop her still getting real mean at times.  Funny or not, we must confess we love it.

Lady Bunny says on YouTube "I know all of y'all are excited to see Season 8 of RuPaul's Drag Race. But don't you dare get so excited that you forget about all the fab queens from seasons past! And for the record, in my book "hoes" is a compliment which means you get laid whenever you want it. And I proudly identify as a hoe myself!

Bette is Back

It has just been announced that The Divine Miss M is releasing a new album of a combination of her very best love songs called A Gift Of Love on December 4th.

The earliest recording on the album is "Let Me Just Follow Behind," which Midler recorded for her third album, Songs for the New Depression (1976). The most recent tracks - "(Talk To Me Of) Mendocino" and "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game" - come from the sessions for Midler's smash tribute to female trios It's the Girls.

However It would not be complete without three of Midler's biggest hits: "The Rose" from the 1979 film of the same name in which Midler starred; the #1 Grammy-winning smash "Wind Beneath My Wings" from another Midler film, Beaches; and "From A Distance," from her double-platinum album Some People's Lives (1990).

In case you need reminding (!) here's a glimpse of Bette at her very best .......

Russell Elliot : Around

Queer R & B performer Russell Elliot  has just released his stunning new music video  "Around'.

Elliot identifies as a pansexual feminist and is inspired by his own experiences with falling for a man in college who identified as straight.   He told The Huffington Post "Falling for a straight boy is hard. When he likes you back, but has no accessible way to act upon those feelings without betraying his heteronormative identity, things get messy. I fell for a boy in college who wanted me behind closed doors and wanted the rest of his comfortable straight life on the other side of that door partying with the 'normal' kids. This video is me finally saying what I should have from the jump: you can’t have it both ways."

Co-starring dancer Alonso Guzman and with superb choreography from The Kuperman Brothers, this is a queerquru pick of the week.

Bitch, I'm A Bottom

Andrew Christian underwear model Pablo Hernandez who is also not adverse to 'modeling' in just his birthday suit has done a rather wonderful parody music video of  Madonna's "Bitch I'm Madonna" featuring Nicki Minaj from Rebel Heart.  Evidently Pablo is singing his own version straight from the heart.  Who knew?

Sam Smith soars for Spectre

Sam Smith really soars in this superb new video released today of 'Writing On The Wall' his theme song for 'Spectre' the new Bond movie, that he co-wrote with fellow Grammy Award Winner Jimmy Napes.  The video directed by long-term collaborator Luke Monaghan weaves in scenes from the eagerly awaited movie with Daniel Craig back again as 007 and this time he is making out with Lucia (played by Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal.

'Writing On The Wall' is the first James Bond theme song recorded by a British male solo artist since 1965, and the very first ever by an openly gay musician. After premiering on September 25 worldwide, it  rocketed to the top of the charts and made chart history by becoming the first Bond theme song ever to score a UK No. 1Even Dame Shirley Bassey never achieved that, but we know that she would be so proud of 'our Sam'

The GayClic Collab Against Homophobia : F-ck You

From 2009 here's a video that we still love from the French group The GayClic Collab Against Homophobia.  It's their very personal take on Lily Allen's 'F-ck You' with it's very infectious beat and a message that queerguru totally endorses and one that we love playing at full volume.

Randy Rainbow : The Kim Davis Cell Block Tango

Mocking that wretched Kentucky Court Clerk who has put herself above the law of the land has become daily sport for practically every comedian and talk show host.  Just by her sad unkempt appearance alone she is such a very easy target.  We however were desperately trying to avoid the fray not wanting to contribute to her self-inflicted martyrdom in any way BUT then we found this hilarious parody from NY comic Randy Rainbow and we simply couldn't resist sharing it.

Miss Sherry Vine Throwin' Up

If you believe that a really good drag act should be (more than a little) offensive  then you'll love Miss Sherry Vine.  This multi-talented singer-actress and the winner of the first ever Glammy Award. HX Drag Queen of the Year has her own You Tube Channel full of her wonderfully bizarre videos  and this is one of our all time favorites.  It co-stars Bob The Drag Queen and is a parody of Jessie J's Burnin' Up called Throwin' Up.

Smoking Hot Tom Goss and his new Video

Openly gay singer/songwriter Tom Goss launched the release of his new music video 'Breath and Sound' which features Matt Alber through The Huffington Post last week telling them  it is 'about three couples as they experience each other sexually for the first time. It’s really hot!'  He's so right on that, as we've seen it, and it is smoking hot!

Goss explained 'I want [LGBT people] to feel like I’m telling their story. I want them to be moved. That’s why I’m doing this. There isn’t enough LGBTQ content being produced. Historically, people have been afraid to tell these stories – but I’m not. I will always use my voice to help tell the stories of those who cannot.'

34 year old Goss, who married his husband in 2010, has self-released five studio albums, one live album, two EPs, and multiple non-album singles.  He won Best Gay Musician in DC from The Washington Blade, both in 2011 and 2012.  Last year he landed his first starring role in a feature film, the gay-themed 'Out to Kill'.

Goss is also a WOWPresents Content Creator and we're not sure why he stripped off to talk about his new music, but we are not complaining
