                                                                                                                                            Darren 1
A new Exhibition of work from award-winning British artists Sadie Lee & Matthew Stradling titled "Obscene and Pornographic Art "opens today in ARTICLE a public gallery and project space, sited within the School of Art, Birmingham City University in the UK.

                                                                                                            Thank You (Dying Slave)

Stradling, based in North London likes to paint the body in sumptuous detail.  He delves into the realms of sex and death with delectation, making the painted flesh sparkle even as it speaks of its own fragility. His work has been exhibited internationally and he has had fourteen solo exhibitions in London, Liverpool, Paris and Ottawa.

                                                                              Death Clown

Sadie Lee's imaginative paintings with a very positive and fierce feminist streak were first bought to the wider public attention when her double portrait 'ERECT' was selected for exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in 1992. The image - two severe looking women sitting with arms interlocked glaring back at the viewer - was produced as a print to advertise the annual BP Award, within weeks 5,000 copies of the poster had completely sold out.

                                                                                                   After The Hunt

As well as showing almost annually at the National Portrait Gallery, Sadie has had several one woman shows nationally and abroad.
